July Currently

I am linking up for the first time with Farley at Oh'Boy 4th Grade for July's Currently.

I also just got my magnetic letters set from Lakeshore Learning.

I took an Emergent Literacy class this past semester. Our teacher was great and had so many ideas to share with us. She was a first grade teacher and was so relatable. She shared these magnet letters and said that she loves them. I only had cheap ones from the Dollar Tree. I love that they are color coded and that each letter has a section. I am planning on using these in my guided reading groups. I plan to buy another set next year for my word work center.

I am so excited about these!!

Thanks again for stopping by. I will be linking up with Kindergals tomorrow for Workin' on it Wednesday. Stop by tomorrow to see the products I have made and added to my TPT store.

  2. Hi! I am so with you on summer being a nice catch-up time. I have binge-watched TONS of series that I didn't have time for during the year... I'm also figuring out what I need to get done for next year. Though it will be my second year teaching, it is in a new district with a new grade, so it's a little like starting over completely! I found this series really helpful as far as like a guiding checklist: http://luckeyfrogslilypad.blogspot.com/p/new-teacher-tips.html

    Have a blast on the 4th! (:

    1. Wow, good luck switching grade levels and districts! I am thankful to still be in Kindergarten. This will be my 4th year at the same school, just my third trailer!! Thanks for sharing the checklist. I liked her post about the teacher emergency kit!

  3. Ohhh I like those magnetic letters! I teach 2nd, but I use magnetic letters for some of my "littles" as I tend to call my lower kiddos. I actually just finished taking an Emergent Literacy class as part of my grad program. It wasn't SUPER applicable to youngers the whole time though because our program has mostly teachers who teach above 2nd grade.
